Carson Murdach was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington. He received his BFA in Steel and Bronze Sculpture from Washington State University. Since graduating in 2000 he has supported himself by working in professions such as foundry worker, metal fabricator, bus driver, tour guide, even working in Alaska as a Naturalist and Bear Guide. During this time he continued to show paintings and sculptures throughout the Northwest. In 2004, he moved to San Francisco to attend California Collage of the Arts and received his MFA for Painting and Drawing in 2006. Since graduating Carson’s work has shown at Ego Park Gallery, the Oakland Art Gallery, San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art, Steven Zevitas/Open Studios Press (OSP) Gallery in Boston and appeared at Aqua Art Miami. 

Carson currently lives San Francisco. When not in the studio he works for the San Francisco Museums as a technician.
